Work is underway in Utrecht on the renovation of three dated office buildings on Herman Gorterstraat. The three detached buildings will be transformed into one large energy-efficient government office, where eventually more than 2,000 people will carry out their work. One of the three buildings, building HG5, will even be completely energy-neutral. This makes it the first existing government office in the Netherlands to be made energy neutral.

Energy-neutral
Energy neutrality will be achieved through both energy-saving and energy-generating measures. For example, part of the double glazing will be replaced with triple glazing, smart interior blinds will be installed, and measures will be taken to make the building more airtight. Additional energy will also be generated, by equipping the building with high-quality solar panels, which will also be placed on part of the buildings in the courtyard.

We have been commissioned by Dura Vermeer Bouw Hengelo to provide the cladding for many building components. For this, we are going to provide various new construction and renovation parts with aluminium composite. We are currently in the middle of the engineering process for frames, ceilings, wall parts of air bridges, the main entrance and the staff entrance. The renders below give you an idea of what it will eventually look like!
