Aldowa is the first company in the world to receive the Cradle to Cradle Bronze certificate for its aluminium ventilated façade systems. The certificate was unveiled at a ceremony held at the company’s entrance on 20 November, attended by the team, partners and Anders Invest. At the same time, the company is launching the “Leave Your Green Mark” campaign, challenging everyone in the construction industry to work together to make a lasting, sustainable impact on the landscape.

Certified product range
The certificate applies specifically to Aldowa BV’s aluminium box panels and cassette-ventilated façade systems. A comprehensive Bill of Materials has been drawn up for these products, listing all the materials and components used. Among other things, this requires insight into the substances used down to 100 ppm, and processes at suppliers are assessed in terms of energy consumption, circularity and working conditions.

What does Cradle to Cradle mean?
Cradle to Cradle is a globally recognised certification programme that assesses products for sustainability in five categories: Material Health, Product Circularity, Clean Air & Climate Protection, Water & Soil Stewardship and Social Fairness. The aim is to develop products that are safe for people and the environment, reusable and contribute to a circular economy. To obtain a Bronze certificate, a company must meet the minimum criteria in all five categories.

Impact on sustainability and the construction sector
With this certification, Aldowa is taking an important step towards a more circular construction sector. By involving the entire supply chain, not only the product itself but also the production processes and cooperation with suppliers are made more sustainable. The “Leave Your Green Mark” campaign emphasises this: Aldowa shows that innovation, sustainability and ambition go hand in hand and invites everyone to contribute to a lasting, green impact on the landscape.

Festive unveiling in Rotterdam
During the unveiling ceremony on 20 November, the certificate was given a prominent place at the entrance to the company. Aldowa’s team, partners Roba, Alumet, CoatR and EPEA, and representatives of Anders Invest then gathered in Aldowa’s Experience Centre for a festive moment, concluding with a joint toast and drinks.
