SHELL AMSTERDAM

At the Energy Transition Campus Amsterdam building in Amsterdam Noord (former Shell Technology Centre Amsterdam), Aldowa installed solar panels in the facade in 2021.

Eight large bays measuring 5.6m wide and 2.8m high were each fitted with 16 custom-made solar panels and framed with an aluminium finish. Each box communicates the company’s sustainability ambitions using pictograms in its corporate colours. Solar panel manufacturer and supplier AGC used Solar Visuals’ unique rasterisation method for this project. This technology, developed in the Netherlands, makes it possible to create patterns and images with limited loss in efficiency.

The entire system is expected to produce around 14,000 kWh per year.
